L.A. Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund

The L.A. COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund is raising funds to provide critical equipment to first responders, relief for healthcare workers, support for families and small businesses, and assistance for our homeless neighbors.

City of LA COVID-19 Test Site Volunteers

Apply to volunteer at our COVID-19 testing sites. Volunteers help with light light traffic direction, simple data entry, checking clients in, and providing simple test-taking demonstrations from a safe distance, while wearing provided personal protective equipment (PPE). Volunteers at these sites receive training and are vital to our COVID-19 response and help save lives.

Find a Nonprofit to Help

Visit the new VolunteerLA Nonprofit Directory to learn about hundreds of nonprofits in the L.A. area that need support. You can search for opportunities by cause or issue, type of service, location, and more.

American Red Cross Los Angeles

Volunteer with the American Red Cross Los Angeles or become a volunteer blood donor to address the current blood shortage. You can also donate plasma if you have recovered from COVID-19.

Neighborhood Check-ins

Angelenos can do neighborhood check-ins and offer to pick up groceries or medications for those who aren't able to. Stay connected by calling your neighbors, friends, and loved ones who might appreciate human connection despite physical distancing.

Food Bank Donation and Meal Delivery

Donate to food banks and volunteer to ensure our most vulnerable populations are still able to provide for their families. Much needed items include canned goods, peanut butter, toilet paper, antibacterial cleansers, and financial contributions.

Check-in with your local homebound meal delivery programs. Many of these programs are scaling up to support the increased demand and need volunteers. Find a location near you and call to ask if they need assistance.

Virtual and At-Home Volunteering

L.A. Works offers virtual volunteer opportunities such as graphic design work, doing wellness checks on older adults who may be food insecure or at risk of eviction, and more.

You can also write thank you cards and mail them to a local health care facility to help boost the staff morale and mental well being.
